The White Bear is well known for its two resident ghosts: not much is known about them but keep an eye out as they are said to appear at random ...
A few years ago, Surrey Paranormal Hunters carried out an investigation at The White Bear and picked up on a spirit named Tom complaining of a stomach problem, and possibly a young girl. Another story suggests The White Bear is haunted by the ghost of a poacher or trespasser who was caught in a mantrap on a local estate – and it's said that the very mantrap was at one time hung on the wall of the bar. Ghost hunters have also described a 'solid black shape' which moves slowly through the bar only to disappear abruptly.
Have you encountered any of our ghosts on your visits to the White Bear? We'd love to hear your stories.
