Hidden away in a former military bunker, just down the road at Botley Hill, Titsey Brewing Co is an up-and-coming Surrey brewery whose beers we’re proud to serve here at The White Bear alongside our other guest and regular ales.
Originally started as a one man band hobby microbrewery based in a tiny farm shed, owner and brewer Craig Vroom has had a phenomenal year and a half – culminating in being named a finalist in the Surrey Life Food & Drink Awards in their Newcomer of the Year category.
With a little help from his friends and a successful crowdfunding campaign last autumn, the brewery has now expanded into a new site next door to Botley Hill Farmhouse and quintupled its output.
The brewery’s name is inspired by the historic Titsey Estate, which is found just 10 minutes down the road from The White Bear and one of the largest surviving historic estates in Surrey.
Found just off the North Downs Way and in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Titsey Place's impressive manor house and beautiful gardens are one of Surrey’s true hidden gems and well worth a visit (visit their website for opening dates and times).
Real ale, keg beer and premium lager
Titsey Brewing Co currently have three core ales, Gower Wolf, Leveson Buck and Gresham Hopper, which have all proven popular with drinkers in the area and here at The White Bear.
They also have Innes Lager, which is a 4% crisp and golden lager, and perfect for sipping in the summer sunshine.
At The White Bear, we’re proud to feature local food and drink on the menu and behind the bar whenever we can, and currently you’ll find at least one of Titsey’s cask ales on our pumps. We even batter our fish and chips with their beer!
Don’t worry if beer isn’t your thing, we’ve got a fantastic gin selection here too.
